Research Specialist

Hiring Range: $74,000 - $89,000 annually

Measurement Incorporated’s Evaluation and School Improvement Services (ESIS) unit is seeking a Research Specialist with experience in program evaluation in K-12 education and postsecondary education. The Research Specialist will serve as a Lead on multiple projects under the direction of a Project Manager and will contribute to other projects, as needed. Candidates hired for the position may work remotely from the Midwest and East Coast regions within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our office locations in Albany and White Plains, New York and Durham, North Carolina

Responsibilities

  • Develop evaluation designs, research questions, logic models, appropriate data collection and analyses, etc.
  • Lead the day-to-day execution of the evaluation work plan and coordinate project logistics with clients (e.g., data collection activities)
  • Analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data
  • Organize and write reports, including annual and summative reports, formative reports and briefs
  • Present report findings to client and other stakeholder groups
  • Conduct literature reviews and synthesizing information for broad audiences
  • Participate in writing proposals as directed
  • Assist in unit-wide processes, improvement, and innovation
  • Travel within designated project areas as well as to unit and team meetings

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with 7+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree in related field
  • 4+ years with relevant experience in program evaluation and research
  • Proficiency in
    • statistical techniques (e.g., correlations, multiple regression, t-tests, ANOVA, etc.)
    • developing evaluation work plan, logic models, etc.
    • research design (e.g., quasi-experimental, case studies, correlational)
    • data collection activities and techniques (e.g., surveys, focus groups, interviews)
  • Excellent communication and virtual meeting/data collection skills
  • Strong team collaboration skills, including a willingness to work with others to complete deliverables
  • Strong task management skills: effective prioritization of tasks to manage workload and meet project requirement timelines
  • Experience with federally funded education programs including 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC), Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program (GEAR UP), and/or Magnet School Assistance Programs a PLUS
