Salary Range: $110,000 -- $130,000
Measurement Incorporated’s (MI) Software Development Manager works within MI’s Scoring Technology department. MI’s Software Development Manager oversees the development, planning, and direction of our online handscoring software systems, contributing to code reviews, mentoring developers, and providing leadership to MI’s teams.
Responsibilities
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide leadership, career development and mentoring for software development teams
- Oversee and optimize IT systems and software
- Lead development efforts for a seamless transition to a new SOC2-compliant environment
- Leverage cloud-native solutions to deliver cost-effective solutions
- Maintenance of cloud-native solutions and continued support for the existing system as long as it remains relevant
- Ability to take a hands-on approach where needed
- Oversee the technical direction of various development projects and products
- Ability to provide constructive feedback to team members to further business goals and objectives
- Collaborate with other teams and departments to establish priorities and roadmaps
- Participate in high-profile customer and partner interactions
- Manage schedules, timelines, and deliverables and reporting progress to technical staff, scoring leadership, project staff, and senior management
- Identify and manage risks and issues, as well as escalating issues appropriately to avoid project delays
- Work with development teams and scoring leadership to troubleshoot, report, and resolve issues
- Ensure systems meet a high standard and improve MI’s abilities to complete our projects effectively, efficiently, and sustainably
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
- 5 years’ experience as a software developer in the construction of web applications/services/software development
- High proficiency in one or more of the programing languages used by MI team
Preferred Skills
- Demonstrated ability to present and communicate concisely and clearly with all levels of business, technical and executive audiences.
- Understanding of highly scalable application architecture
- Ability to work in a dynamic and high-energy team environment
- Prior experience mentoring and coaching team members and leading development projects
- Experience with SQL Server development
