Vice President for Evaluation and School Improvement Services

Essential Duties

  • Contributes to new business development including proposal writing
  • Leads conceptualization and development of research and evaluation proposals, and study plans including study design and instrumentation.
  • Supports execution of all research and evaluation projects including budgets, provide input where needed while effectively directing the efforts of division staff across operational areas.
  • Develops a team of Research leaders to carry out high-impact research & evaluation
  • Guides Project Leads/Managers and project teams to work effectively towards the project goals
  • Reviews and updates staffing plans within and across projects
  • Leads the development and integration of equitable evaluation frameworks into evaluation proposals and practice.
  • Fosters a collaborative work environment and culture and encourages innovative thinking
  • Ensures the professional development and continued engagement of all members of the division
  • Evaluates existing portfolio of services and leads the strategic development of future opportunities.
  • Cultivates partnership opportunities with local, state, and national educational consulting and program evaluation firms
  • Leads efforts to disseminate project work to broad audiences through blogs, infographics and other visuals, reports, policy briefs, and conference presentations.
  • Oversees recruitment, selection, retention, and promotion of division staff

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience including management experience.
  • Advanced degree in an appropriate discipline, PhD preferred.
  • Experience in developing successful proposals and managing large national and state studies and projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence and motivate others toward a shared goal or action
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to lead and motivate team members, interface with a variety of constituents, manage multiple tasks and projects within strict time frames, and meet set deadline
  • Strategic and analytical thinker who can translate complex science into credible, engaging information to educate broad audiences.
